"Not overplaying, just giving the song what it needs"

I met Dan Anthony years back at a men’s conference when I was called at the last minute to help out because of illness to the worship leader.  Dan was the drummer that weekend and I was ‘blown away’ by the level of his talent.  That weekend began a relationship in worship music that carries on to this day.  I have had a long and ‘storied’ career in music, most of which took place in the secular world. During that time, I had the honor of working with what are considered some of the best drummers of their era.  Having that as a basis of comparison, Dan measures up to their level.  Looking ahead, I sincerely hope that I am able to continue to work with Dan as we go forward in advancing the Kingdom.  Respectfully submitted,  ~Douglas “Red” Mark

Over the years I’ve played with many drummers!  Most recently Dan Anthony has been behind the kit most regularly.  Dan is not only a great player, he is the kind of bandmate whose positive attitude and great sense of humor make him a   pleasure to share the stage with. We often remind ourselves that in a band, “The drummer drives the bus!  Dan is a great driver, refreshingly avoiding overplaying but always bringing the song what it needs!  One thing I especially appreciate is Dan’s strong sense of time!  He never drags or rushes!  Also He has a great memory for song arrangements!  I can’t recommend Dan Anthony to you more strongly!  He will deliver the kind of results you’re looking for on the stage or in the studio. ~Stephen Anderson

I have worked with Dan on a number of projects, all very different from the other. Dan has a wide range of styles, however, he creates a consistency through all of them. While his drumming core stems from jazz and funk, he tastefully blends those elements into rock or acoustic music, creating a very unique sounds. Dan is at his best when given the direction or concept of the song and then the freedom to play what he hears.  ~Daniel Elder
